It apparently takes more than a cold snap to stop Navasotans from beautifying their town or keep dads and daughters away from their special dance. The city’s Shelby Green told City Council that despite the weather, more than a hundred still showed up for this year’s Keep Navasota Beautiful Trash-Off.
She said almost a hundred and 50 pre-registered, who all still showed up, in addition to a few last minute walk-ins. And, despite having to lose about a half-hour due to the cold, Green reported they were still able to gather two dumpers-full.
Green also reported 113 tickets were sold to that night’s Daddy-Daughter Dance and not only did most of them show up, this year’s sponsorships made it possible to give out prizes.
And Green said this year’s medals just kept rolling for the winners of three different daddy-daughter games that were a part of the Saturday night fun.
Not only were this year’s Trash-Off and Daddy-Daughter Dance unaffected by the unseasonally cold and damp weather, but Green told Council she was able to note little changes that can be made next year so that both events will hopefully be even more fun.
