After some turmoil and uncertainty on it’s continuance we can safely, officially say: soccer will be back this fall in Grimes County.
City manager of Navasota Jason Weeks gave an update a Monday’s city council meeting on the program, which was saved by the city after folding this summer.
“Games will start the morning of September 24th, and run for 6 weeks from around 8 am until noon. All coaches and teams have been assigned, some have already started practicing,” said Weeks. “The day after we notified, they met the next day and started practicing. Team t-shirts have been ordered, and received, and are just waiting to get those out. So, soccer is underway.”
All of the games will be at August Horst Park. City council also thanked city staff for their work in getting the program together.
