The Texas A&M system announces a Federal lawsuit has been dismissed against Texas A&M University.
A system news release says a Federal judge ruled in favor of the university in a discrimination case filed by a man who alleged unlawful hiring practices by A&M without ever applying for a job.
A finance professor at the University of Texas, a white man, claimed A&M engaged in unlawful hiring practices “by giving discriminatory preferences to females and non-Asian racial minorities at the expense of white and Asian men.”
The federal judge listed several reasons for dismissing the lawsuit without prejudice, which means the professor can re-file.
For the avoidance of doubt, this order in no way precludes Lowery from bringing later action based on future practices of Texas A&M after implementation of new policy under Senate Bill 17.
