After battling through another incredible season, undefeated to the regional quarter finals, our twice-state champion Navasota Rattlers lost a seven point heartbreaker November 27th to the Carthage Bulldogs in their unlucky 13th game of the year.
Head Coach Llee Fedora admits to Navasota News, he knew walking into that game it would be a real fight and in the end is was a matter of which team made the least mistakes.
Between the two teams the coach says there is a total of six State Championships. And with each lead gained and lost that night, the boys in blue fought hard every-time.
So regardless of the teams defeat, he continues, he’s proud of them; they played well and with respect. And he said much the same about the Bulldogs and their Head Coach, Scott Surrat, who returned the sentiments adding that Coach Fedora and the Navasota Rattlers, are nothing but First Class.
As for next season Fedora promises his Rattlers will continue playing Rattler Football, which means overcoming adversity, playing fast, hard and physical; but most importantly with class.
Which, he beams, truly showed after the last game as the two teams came together for a prayer and well-wishes for the Bulldogs, as their season continues.
