Residents of Grimes, and other counties in the disaster declaration from February’s winter storm, have another month to apply for individual assistance. FEMA’s Nate Custer says the money is for emergency home repairs.
“Trying to make your home safe, secure, and functional. Not to repair every room, but to give you a basic leak proof roof, and some walls that have better resistance to them. To give you a little peace and comfort,” said Custer.
Custer says residents, with or without insurance, can apply at disasterassistance.gov through May 20th.
