Abortions in Texas are now illegal after the detection of a fetal heartbeat, even in cases of rape or incest. That is part of a new law, signed into effect on Wednesday by Governor Greg Abbott.
“Our creators endowed us with the right to life. Yet, millions of children lose their right t life every year, because of abortions. In Texas, we are working to save those lives,” said Abbott on Wednesday.
The new law also imposes civil penalties on abortion doctors, and those who assist.
Opponents plan to go to court.
