Fireworks included in first Navasota Freedom Festival

A special, new surprise is coming to the 4th of July Freedom Festival in Navasota this year.

Madison Brooks, the city’s marketing and communications coordinator, said in a press release Tuesday there will be fireworks for the first ever Freedom Festival. The fireworks will begin at 9:15 pm July 4th at Brule Field.

Spectators can stay in downtown after conclusions of the festival, or head to Brule Field starting at 8 pm that night.

The festival will also have the annual 4th of July Parade, shopping, kids activities and live music.

Social distancing is expected to be maintained at the event, and the city encourages citizen’s to follow the CDC recommendations, and follow the guidelines set out by Governor Gregg Abbott.
