First case of COVID-19 confirmed in Navasota, total now at 10 for Grimes County

The first case of COVID-19 within the Navasota city limits has been confirmed.

The tenth case now in Grimes County is identified as a woman in her 50s. The City is working to obtain more information and will provide details when available, according to the press release from the city.

The city asks that citizen’s continue following the social distancing guidelines and comply with the recommendations from Governor Greg Abbott and President Donald Trump.

The 8th and 9th cases in Grimes County were confirmed late last week as two inmates at the Wallace Pack Unit. One of the inmates died from complications with COVID-19, according to a preliminary autopsy report.
