The numbers for the Food for Families Food Drive in the area have been tallied and it was another successful year for the event.
In Grimes and Madison County combined, the drive raised around $13,000 combined and nearly 21,000 pounds of food.
In Madison County, the drive tallied $4,253.37 in monetary donations, and received around 9,800 pounds of food. In Grimes County, monetary donations topped out around $9,122 and food donations peaked at 11,601 pounds.
Compared to last year, monetary donations fell while food donations rose in Madison County. In Grimes, compared to last year, there was an increase in monetary donations, but a drop in the amount of food donated.
