Former Iola man arrested on multiple drug charges during warrant search

February 8, 2022 by Andre Perrard

Officers attempting to serve a warrant at a College Station motel leads to the arrest of a former Iola man on a slew of drug charges.

The College Station Police arrest report says that happened Friday afternoon, when officers arrived at Room 343 at the EconoLodge. Police were there to serve a warrant for a woman named Sandy Cantu, when 57 year old Reuben Riojas of College Station, formerly Iola, answered the door.

In plain view on a table was a meth pipe. He denied consent to search the room, so officers applied their search warrant.

Inside, authorities found marijuana, crystal meth, and a prescription pill bottle with Cyproheptadine inside. The pill bottle did not bear Riojas’ name.

Riojas was arrested, and hit with charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1, and Possession of a Dangerous Drug. He was released the next day after posting an $11,000 bond.
