A former Iola resident was stopped this weekend for a defective headlight, and eventually jailed for Possession of Marijuana.
The Brazos County Sheriff’s arrest report says they stopped the car for that violation around 10 pm Saturday night on FM 2223 near Wixon Valley.
The driver appeared nervous, shaking and refusing to make eye contact. The officer then learned she had a warrant out for Expired Motor Vehicle Registration. She advised she was aware of it. The officer then asked if there was anything illegal in the car, which the woman admitted to two marijuana cigars rolled up, plus a baggie of weed, being inside the car.
A family member came to take the vehicle, and the woman was arrested, identified as 28 year old Cheyenne Watson of Huntsville, formerly Iola.
She was taken in on the outstanding warrant, and the Possession of Marijuana charge. Watson was released on Sunday after posting a $3,000 bond.
