Former Navasota man faces 3rd DWI charge after hitting utility box in College Station

February 24, 2022 by Andre Perrard

A former Navasota man is in jail after being charged with his 3rd DWI.

The arrest report from CSPD says that happened on Sunday night, when an officer observed a car which had struck a utility box on the corner. The car then tried parking in a spot in nearby apartments, where it struck the safety barrier. Officer made contact with 62 year old Pedro Valadez, formerly of Navasota, and immediately determined he was under the influence of alcohol.

Valadez said he had a “couple of drinks” and then became agitated with police questioning. Records showed Valadez was convicted of DWI in July 1978, then in Grimes County in August 2006.

Valadez was arrested and charged with DWI with 2 or more prior convictions, and charges with striking the utility box. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
