The body of a Navasota woman was discovered west of town, out by Pecan Lakes Golf course Tuesday morning, April 11th.
Navasota Police Chief Justin Leeth says a call shortly before 8 that morning from someone seeing “something suspicious” in the vicinity of River Haven Drive and State Highway 105 West led his officers to the body of 53-year-old Frances Bolden.
Leeth tells Navasota News the official cause of Bolden’s death is still undetermined, pending a report from the medical examiner. So her body has been sent to the Southwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Dallas where an autopsy will be performed.
Chief Leeth says his investigation is being assisted by members of the Grimes County District Attorney and Sheriff’s Office, the College Station P.D., D.P.S. and Texas Rangers.
He explains he is remaining vague about the circumstances around the discovery, or condition of Bolden’s remains to be respectful both to her family and to the investigation.
In the meantime, the chief is asking that anyone with any additional information that could assist in the investigation, to contact the NPD’s Criminal Investigation Division at 936-825-6410.
