Multiple people were injured after two separate crashed near Madisonville on Sunday afternoon.
The first happened around 2:50 pm on Interstate 45. A 2006 Toyota Sequoia SUV and a 2006 Mazda 3 were traveling southbound in separate lanes.
The SUV changed lanes, from the left lane to the right lane, and struck the rear of the Mazda, causing it to strike the center barrier and stop in the median. The SUV rolled several times before is stopped in the feeder road.
The driver in the SUV, identified as 52 year old Tina Schwartz of The Woodlands, was sent by helicopter to St. Joseph in Bryan with unknown injuries.
Two passengers in the SUV were flown to Memorial Herman in Houston with unknown injuries, They were identified as not identified.
The driver of the Mazda, 49 year old Crystal Pettis of Montgomery, was not injured.
According to DPS, the second crash happened around 3:50 pm Sunday, on State Highway 75 near the I-45 service road. A 2019 GMC box truck, travelling southbound on the service road, failed to yield right of way to a 2017 Ford pick up, travelling northbound on 75.
The driver of the box truck, identified as 19 year old Kamron Landor of Spring, was not injured.
28 year old Robert Wakefield of Midway was the driver in the Ford, and was transported to St. Joseph in Bryan. His condition was unknown.
An investigation is ongoing in both crashes, and no further information was been released.
