Students in the Navasota Independent School District can get more than just a free morning meal this week as the district joins with others across the country for National Breakfast Week.
The District’s Wyvtta Franklin tells Navasota News, all the school will be highlighting one of the major food groups every day while serving up a free breakfast.
Franklin says students who eat breakfast do better in school than those who don’t, and it’s actually healthier too, she reasons; students will focus on their work instead of their stomachs and won’t pig out later in the day.
At all NISD campuses except Highpoint, breakfasts start serving at 7:15. Highpoint Elementary breakfasts begin at 6:50. And just to make the meal more special, franklin invites all parents to come inside and chow down with their kids too.
