Friday bank robbery in College Station ends in arrest of Hempstead man

A Hempstead man was arrested on Friday following armed robbery at a College Station bank.

According to College Station police, though, it only took 20 minutes to find he man accused of the robbery, due to him being tracked on cell phones he took from bank employees. The arrest report says that officers recovered all but $254 of the more than $23,000 that was in three bank bags.

There was no one injured in the hold up, which happened in the noon hour Friday, at the First Financial Bank branch on Texas Avenue.

Authorities arrested 19 year old Ondre Green Junior of Hempstead. He is being held on bonds totaling $125,000, on charges of holding up three employees from the bank, and stealing a car from Harris County.

He remains in the Brazos County jail.
