Future capital improvement projects mulled over by Grimes County Commissioner’s

September 8, 2022 by Andre Perrard

Some capital improvements might be coming to some Grimes County buildings down the road.

Building maintenance manager Rodney Floyd and County Judge Joe Fauth discussed and presented a list of 6 possible projects in the county for the future.

“Number one (1) is a refinish of the Grimes County Jail, and what is left out there. Number two (2) is renovation of the Grimes County Annex in Anderson, something we have talked about for a long time. Item three (3) a New Justice Center Annex,” said Fauth “Item four (4) is install fans at the Grimes County Fairgrounds, and I am talking about big fans…big ones that move a lot of air underneath those pavilions. Item five (5) was pavilion addition for AgriLife, because they want to expand their footprint out at the Precinct 3 location.”

Also mentioned on the list were some additions to CHI St. Joseph in Grimes County. Fauth said that money for the projects would either come from what is budgeted, or diverted ARPA Funds that must be utilized by 2024.

Nothing was approved, as this was just a discussion of ideas.
