Grimes County adds 36 new cases, 1 new death in first COVID-19 update in two weeks

After a week with no update, and no new CVOID-19 cases, the newest update for Grimes County adds 36 new cases, and one new death to the toll.

According to a release on Tuesday afternoon, the county has seen 619 total cases since March 2020, and there are currently 49 cases active within Grimes County. That is down 5 active cases from 2 weeks ago.

Recovery wise, there have been 560 recovered, which is up 39 from two weeks ago.

One new death was added, to bring the running death total since March 2020 to 11.

In all, 8,091 tests have been performed in the county.

For the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, their dashboard says there are 5 active cases at the Pack Unit, with 3 of them offenders and two employees. For the Luther Unit, they have 9 active cases, 1 of them offender related and 8 employee related.
