The Grimes County Clerk’s Office is opening back up to the public on Monday.
According to a Facebook post by the Grimes County Courthouse, the office will open Monday, May 18th. There will be some rules and regulations to be followed, however.
They will have new temporary office hours, from 9am -12pm and 1pm – 4pm.
Marriage Licenses will be processed by appointment only. No more than 2 customers will be allowed in the building at one time. They also request that everyone wear face coverings and use social distancing while in the building and use the hand sanitizer provided. A drop box will be provided for customers wishing to drop off their documents to be recorded but they must be in a sealed envelope and please do not leave cash.
The Public Research room and the Old Deed Books and Probate Records room is still closed to the public until further notice.
The office has been closed to the public since March 31st due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
