Grimes County Commissioners’ Court Approves Rental Fee for County-Contracted Elections

Among the agenda items at Wednesday’s Grimes County Commissioners’ Court was to discuss and take action to set the county owned equipment rental fee for county contracted elections.

Grimes County Elections Administrator, Rachel Walker explained compliance with a Texas Election Code.

Walker proposed a $25 fee per piece of equipment per day for contracted elections to schools and municipalities, it does not apply to primary elections.

Walker said this fee is a substantial discount, and relayed the prices the code allows.

When asked by the court who pays when there is an election with a city and school ballot, Walker explained the billing process.

The Court unanimously voted to approve the $25 rental fee.
