Grimes County holding off on burn ban for now, as drought conditions get splash of Monday rain

April 25, 2022 by Willy1550

Drought conditions in the Brazos Valley continue creeping into semi dangerous territory, prompting a burn ban out to the east in Walker County.

But here in Grimes County, there is not one in place yet. As always, though, county officials remind you to be smart with your burn piles.

“Threat level has gone down…wind has been atrocious…we will caution out citizen’s, fi you do burn, please, burn with caution. We will take no action at this time,” said County Judge Joe Fauth at the most recent meeting of Commissioner’s Court.

No burn ban is in effect for Grimes County as of now. It will be discussed at the next meeting on May 4th.
