For the 21st consecutive year, the Grimes County jail has passed jail standards.
County Building Maintenance Manager Al Peeler said, especially with all the work ongoing and not ongoing there, the passing grade was a nice notch.
“I want to give recognition to one of my employees, and a county employee, Junior Covington. He led them, he took the lead, and told them what we had in the plans. And, they liked everything we had in the plans coming up,” Peeler said.
Ongoing replacement of HVAC units, humidity control systems, and mold remediation are taking place at the jail. Peeler said recently that he hopes to have access to the humidity control systems this week.
