Grimes County jail suspends inmate visitation, citing COVID case spike

August 3, 2021 by Willy1550

Due to the recent spike in COVID cases, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office has made the decision to resume closure from public access.

Inmate visitation will also be closed as of now.

In the press release on Sunday, the office said “it is our duty to protect the inmates as well as personnel from the spread of COVID in our facility. We understand that you all look forward to visiting your loved ones, but we have to ensure their safety above all. We will reevaluate this decision within 30 days and give an update on our closure.”

For questions for more information, contact the jail at 936-873-6439. No further information has been released.
