Last week’s Commissioner’s Court meeting gave a look into the lone construction project left in Grimes County, happening at the new Justice Center.
County building maintenance manager Al Peeler gave an update on the new building last Wednesday. He said a couple weeks back, that they hit a snag with their Air Conditioning coils, expecting them to be here April 19th. But, that snag has snagged again.
“They pushed us back to May 21st. So, we won’t have air conditioning until June 1st. So, that will limit us on what we can do…we cannot do a lot of interior stuff. We can finish primer and stuff like that, but we can’t bring in any of the wood products. We can do door locks, figure that out, some of our technology we can still do. But, that has set us back a little bit,” said Peeler.
Now, elsewhere at the Justice Center, he gave a two week look ahead into their schedule, and what all they have finished.
“We are still continuing on bricking the outside,” Peeler said.
All in all, they are still look at trying to move county offices and employees into the center beginning on August 16th, according to Peeler.
