Grimes County man found guilty of Possession of Child Pornography

February 10, 2020 by Andre Perrard

A Grimes County man charged with 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography on his phone was found guilty on Friday.

The man, Wade Harrell Thomson, was arrested in January 2015 after being stopped by a Grimes County deputy near Roans Prairie. During the stop, an estimated 4,000 pornographic pictures were found on Thomson’s cell phone.

The phone was gone through after obtaining a search warrant. Thomson was found guilty by a jury on Friday after about an hour of deliberation.

Grimes County Attorney Andria Bender said they will seek a punishment that includes prison time. Possession of Child Pornography is a third degree felony, punishable by 2-10 years in prison or probation.

Also assisting in the case was a Homeland Security Special Agent and a Brazos County deputy.

No date set for Thomson’s punishment.
