A Grimes County man has been given 24 years in prison for sex crimes against children.
The Grimes County District Attorney’s Office announced September 30th that 23 year old John Desmond Crawford was found guilty of two counts of Sexual Assault of a Child, and a county of Indecency with a Child.
Investigations revealed Crawford, who was 19 years old at the time, picked up two sisters he met at a church camp at their home on July 4th, 2018.
They were driven to a remote area off FM 1748, where Crawford had sexual intercourse with the 15 year old sister. While the older sister was later away from the vehicle, Crawford then groped and sexually assaulted her 13 year old sibling.
Crawford was given 10 years for each Sexual Assault of a Child count, and 4 years for the Indecency with a Child charge, all to run concurrently for a total of 24 years.
Crawford must also register as a sex offender for he rest of his life.
