Grimes County officials ask citizen’s to be cautious as Burn Ban remains lifted

November 9, 2020 by Willy1550

As drought conditions start creeping back into the picture in Grimes County, the burn ban remains lifted, for now.

At the November 4th meeting of Commissioner’s Court, County Judge Joe Fauth said citizen’s need to be cautious, and stay in tune with the Commissioner’s Court in the coming weeks.

“We are drying out, and there is not much rain in the forecast,” said Fauth. “So, it is good for the roadways, and building the justice center, and all of that. But, things have been kind of cool and crisp, wind has not been too bad, and have not had any complaints. So, just be prepared that we may…matter of fact, but that on the [next agenda], we can review it again at that time.”

There was no recommendation from Emergency Management Coordinator David Lilly, as he was not at the meeting. But, the court will revisit the ban during this week’s meeting.

Until then, the burn ban remains lifted for Grimes County, but burn cautiously.
