Another reminder from Grimes County officials that there is still time to be counted in the 2020 US Census.
“That effects so much of the federal funding that may potentially come to our state or to our county. As we said in the beginning, each person that responds…they are worth about $1,161 per person. And, if everyone was to respond, that is potentially how much money in federal resources we could get in our county,” said County Judge Joe Fauth during the most recent meeting of Commissioner’s Court.
For our local cities, as of Monday, September 14th, response rates in the county are listed best to worst:
Navasota – 56% response rate
Iola – 41.6% response rate
Bedias – 34.4% response rate
Anderson – 33.1% response rate
Grimes County has an overall response rate of 49.3%, which is below the state average of 61%.
The county has the third best response rates of counties in the Brazos Valley.
