Grimes County residents report local College Station channels removed from DirecTV lineup

April 14, 2022 by Andre Perrard

If some of your College Station television channels have disappeared in Grimes County, DirecTV might be to blame.

First reported by KBTX, DirecTV has pulled numerous BCS television stations from the lineup in Grimes County, saying the reasoning is due to Grimes County being in the Houston Designated Market Area.

Many of the College Station channels fall into the Waco/Temple/Bryan market, and Grimes County is technically outside of that.

A regular antenna can still pick up most stations in the area, and you can also submit a waiver request to DirecTV to have the channels reinstated for weather concerns.

This does not effect users who do not have DirecTV in Grimes County. For questions or inquiries, contact your cable provider.
