Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell celebrates 24 years on job and says Sheriff’s Office office is hiring

September 15, 2022 by Andre Perrard

A happy anniversary to Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell, who marked 24 years on the job this last Saturday.

Sowell, elected in 1998, had another announcement too: his office is hiring.

The Sheriff’s Office is receiving applications for a jailer, jail deputy, dispatcher, deputy sheriff, and school resource deputy.

Requirements for applicants include a High School diploma or GED, and applicants for Patrol Deputy positions must have a Texas Peace Officer License.

More information on the postings can be found on the Grimes County Sheriff’s Facebook page, or the county website.
