Grimes County Sheriff’s Office continues promotions with Annie Chumley named Patrol Division Lieutenant

November 23, 2022 by Andre Perrard

The Grimes County Sheriff’;s Office continues to shuffle personnel following the departure of Chief Deputy Todd Greene last week.

Sheriff Don Sowell announced this week that 14 year veteran of the department Annie Chumley has been promoted to Lieutenant over the Patrol Division.
Lieutenant Chumley, who has been with the office since 2008, has served as Dispatcher, as well as Administrative Assistant, Investigator, and Patrol Deputy. The promotion comes after Lieutenant Martha Smith was named Chief Deputy of the department, after Greene announced his departure for “a new endeavor,” recently.
Sowell said that Chumley “has exceeded all expectations and she possesses the leadership skills that she will need in this new position.”
