Grimes County Sheriff’s Office investigating attempted abduction of 8 year old boy

August 23, 2021 by Andre Perrard

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the attempted abduction of an 8 year old boy near Stoneham this weekend.

That happened Saturday morning in the 14000 block of County Road 304. An older model Ford pickup pulled into the homes driveway as the boy was taking trash to the roadside bin.

The suspect, described as a white male with a mustache, was unknown to the boy, approached him, and asked him to get in the truck.

The boy refused, and the man dropped a baggie on the ground. When the boy attempted to pick it up and hand it to the man, he tried grabbing the boys arm and told him to get in the truck.

The boy managed to flee, and the man left the property. He traveled north on 304 toward Stoneham, with authorities not being able to track him down.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 936-873-2151.
