Grimes County Sheriff’s Office promotes new criminal investigator to division

March 2, 2021 by Willy1550

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office has its newest investigator.

According to a post from the office on Monday afternoon, Sergeant Todd Moon was promoted to the Criminal Investigations Division, under Lieutenant James Ellis.

Moon began his career with Grimes County as a jailer in December 2014, eventually moving to a patrol officer following graduation from the TEEX academy in 2015.

In July 2019, Sergeant Moon was promoted to patrol sergeant, before receiving the promotion to the CID on Monday.

Sheriff Don Sowell said that they are “proud to have Sergeant Moon on the team, and are confident he will be a great asset to the investigative team.”
