The search for a missing man near Plantersville has ended. According to authorities, the man returned home without harm.

A search is ongoing for a potential missing person near Plantersville.
The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 42 year old unidentified white male, with red hair and a goatee, who was visiting friends off County Road 201.
Sheriff Don Sowell said that the person supposedly called his aunt in Houston, sating he had left the residence, and began walking down the railroad tracks. He told his aunt on the walk that he had been bitten by a dog, fell into a Briar patch, and had low cell service.
The man has a history of substance abuse, but Sowell could not confirm if he was under the influence at the time.
No further information has been released, as the search continues.
