Grimes County Sheriff’s Office seizes over one pound of cocaine in Monday night traffic stop

December 27, 2022 by Andre Perrard

Out of the city limits, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office says they seized over a pound of cocaine in a traffic stop last night.

Around 9:30 pm, a car was stopped by the K9 Unit for speeding on Highway 6. Sheriff Don Sowell says the two occupants showed signs of nervousness, and eventually admitted to concealing the drugs.

The K9 “Hank” alerted to a spot covering 1.3 pounds of cocaine, plus $1,471.

The driver and passenger, who have yet to be identified, were both arrested.

Charges for each are pending.
