Grimes County Sheriff’s Office warns of scam with individuals impersonating law enforcement

February 1, 2021 by Willy1550

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a scam, where people are impersonating law enforcement.

According to a Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Office on Friday, they received a report from another agency that they had received a call from someone identifying themselves Lieutenant Brookes with the Office.

The Sheriff’s Office does not employ anyone by that name, and the phone calls originate from a number, 936-247-3457, which is not the Sheriff’s Offices phone.

They ask that you be cautious if you are contacted at random by someone stating they are an officer.

If you are contacted by the individual, contact the Sheriff’s Office at 936-873-2151.
