Grimes County Tells Proposed Rail Line a Unanimous No

December 9, 2014 by Willy1550

Grimes County land owners, residents and others packed the Expo center last Thursday night, to unanimously give both the Texas Central Rail and Federal Railroad Administration a major tongue lashing.

Concerned citizen Eric Jurgin was one of many to eloquently give the assembly a piece of their mind, which at times were the most “colorful” after they were cut off when their time allocation was over.

But that didn’t stop one could-be Houston escapee from sharing this observation.

A certified cost engineer by trade, Lane Parish, could not get a straight answer to his inquiry of why they are planning to build a rail line that cannot meet their own needed of 50,000 riders per day when running at 100% capacity.

Officials from the FRA did tell Navasota News, however they use these scoping meetings as a starting point for their investigations and research, which they will publish and then hand out.

In the meantime, the Grimes Citizen Advisory Group is holding another meeting this evening at 6 (DEC 9TH) at Navasota Realty.  Everyone is invited to attend.
