Among the agenda items of the most recent meeting of Grimes County Commissioners’ Court, was the discussion and possible action to approve the purchase of two hand-held radios to improve communications.
Grimes County Precinct 1 Constable, Dale Schaper, gave details about the equipment.
Schaper gave costs of the radios and asked about how they could be funded by the county.
With questions about funding sources within the budget, Commissioner Phillip Cox, Schaper, and Judge Fauth discussed the emergent need for the request.
The court unanimously voted to approve the purchase of the radios from the budget’s Contingency Fund.
