Grimes County total COVID-19 cases at 15 after two new cases confirmed

Two new cases of COVID-19 has brought the total in Grimes County now to 15.

In a press released sent on Monday afternoon David Lilly, the county Emergency Management Coordinator, the 14th case is identified as a male in his 80s, currently hospitalized, who contracted the virus by way of travel. The 15th case is identified as a male in his 50s, not travel related, and is currently not hospitalized. No location of the patients was given.

To protect patient identities, no further information was released.

Of the 15 confirmed cases, five have recovered and one, an inmate at the Wallace Pack unit, has died.

Grimes County officials and Navasota officials urge citizen’s to continue following social distancing and large gathering guidelines.
