Grimes County total COVID-19 cases now at 89 after new cluster of positive tests

More conducted tests within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system have led to 24 more positive cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County, bringing the total to 89.

All 24 new patients are TDCJ male offenders at the Wallace Pack Unit in Navasota, who are not currently hospitalized.

According to the press release, Grimes County currently has 76 active cases, 12 reported recoveries, and still one confirmed death as of Wednesday, May 20th.

Officials continue the practicing of social distancing and avoiding groups larger than 10 people. Any questions may be directed to the Grimes County Office of Emergency Management at 936-873-4404.
