Donald J. Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States. In Grimes County, President-Elect Trump received 79.67% of the vote, with Vice President Kamala Harris getting 19.47%.
Senator Ted Cruz retained his seat. In Grimes County, he took 77.40% of the vote, with Democrat Collin Allred getting 20.74%.
In the race for State Representative in House District 12, Trey Wharton won with 76.9% of the vote. In Grimes County, he carried the race with 81.59%.
In local contested races, Republican Michael Raska won County Commissioner Precinct 3 over Democrat incumbent Barbara Walker. Raska received 62.45% of the vote, with Walker receiving 37.55%.
For the Richards ISD Trustee Position 6, Jeannine Shead won over Charlotte Sanders with 97.30% of the vote. Trustee Position 7 went to Reed Edelman with 56.58% over Benny Lewis with 43.42%.
The Anderson-Shiro CISD School Bond passed with 50.17% in favor of the bond.
Grimes County had 14,087 total voters, which is 66.58% of all registered voters in the county.
