Over the summer, the Navasota ISD School Board’s moving ahead with the decision it made a couple of months ago to allow selected, concealed-carry-approved NISD personnel to be armed while they’re on the job.
NISD Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick says the board is extremely happy with the response it received from members of the Navasota community, because, following their training, every campus in the district will be protected by confidentially armed personnel this fall.
Musick stresses that the names, number and location of concealed-carry-approved personnel are understandably kept confidential.
And as the district’s volunteer peacekeepers are being trained over the summer, Musick tells Navasota News that he and the rest of the district staff will still be working.
With the exception of the week of the 4th of July, Musick says both NISD Administration and Campus offices will be open from 7:30 to 5 Monday through Thursday, with regular hours resuming on August 10th.
