A little more than two dozen local citizens turned out for homemade gumbo and Grimes County Congressman Kevin Brady at last weeks local monthly GOP meeting.
Brady told the crowd it was the good folks of Grimes who were responsible for his first being elected to Congress back in 1997.
When the discussion turned to our ongoing border problems, Sheriff Don Sowell praised Brady as being one of the few federal and state legislators who both understands, and can be depended upon to back the needs of local law enforcement.
And even though it’s not directly a federal matter, Brady pledged his personal opposition to any proposed high-speed rail projects through the County of Grimes.
Brady also told the crowd he wants to hear their thoughts, and the best way to get them to him is by calling his local staff. It’s even a toll-free number: 877-441-5700.
