Well, there is no joy in Rattler Nation today. After leading our boys in blue to two state championships during his more than a decade as head coach, and recently having his contract finally extended by the Navasota School Board, Lee Fedora called it quits yesterday last week.
Fedora refused to say if his letter of resignation was in reaction to recent rounds of meetings with the school board, adding he just wants to help ease the transition to whoever his successor will be, adding for him, its time for a change.
When he broke the news to the teams, coach tells Navasota News many of the young men and women he had worked with could not hold back their tears, . . . And neither could he.
Coach says he doesn’t know what’s next for him after he finishes out the school year here, as he currently has no offers on the table elsewhere. But right now, Fedora says all he wants to do is what’s best for his family. And wherever that is, it apparently won’t be here.
Good-bye and Godspeed, coach. There are not words to convey how very much you will be missed.
