It’s open enrollment season for the Affordable Healthcare Act, so those without coverage find themselves with a new wave of interest in both the law’s benefits and fines.
And to help make sense of it all is the Brazos Valley Council of Government’s Lead Navigator, Kathrine Powell.
Powell tells Navasota News many Brazos Valley residents have been able to get good coverage through the program for as little as $70 a month.
And just like last year, she continues, if you fail to get you or your family covered, you could wind up with some pretty stiff fines.
The Brazos Valley saw the lowest enrollment in the state last year, Powell says she’s seeing a resurgence of interest, and is helping many families find plans that are right for them.
Open enrollment ends December 31st, says Powell, adding she hopes to add fifteen hundred new individuals and families by then. If you’d like to be among them, go to enroll www.brazosvalley.org or call 979-595-2831
