Hemp applications from Brazos Valley includes one from Anderson

Texas agriculture commissioner Sid Miller announced this week, that the first industrial license to grow hemp went to a farmer in Killeen. The state agriculture department has received 546 applications.

A department spokesman tells Navasota News they have received ten applications from the Brazos Valley, which includes one from Anderson.

Elsewhere, there were two from College Station, Caldwell and Marquez and one from Bryan, Franklin and Normangee.

Most applications are to grow hemp. Two other categories are for handlers and for handler samplers.
