October 4, 2022 by Willy1550

A Navasota man who took officers on a chase reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour is in jail facing a felony evading charge.

Navasota police say they tried stopping a speeding vehicle at the Washington and La Salle intersection Monday around midnight, when it took off south, eventually reaching Highway 6.

The chase went into Hempstead, where police there deployed a spike strip and stopped the car.

19 year old Sammy Mallard of Navasota faces the Evading Arrest charge, plus reckless driving, and remains in jail.
