According to a press release from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, “On Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Grimes County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, while attempting to locate a wanted person in the Plantersville area, observed a blue in color Chrysler minivan. This vehicle was the one the wanted suspect, Darrell Edwin Hemann, was known to operate and believed they observed the wanted suspect in the vehicle. Investigators requested a marked unit to attempt a traffic stop.
A Grimes County Sheriff’s Office Deputy arrived in the area and attempted to initiate a traffic stop by activating his emergency equipment. Hemann failed to stop for the marked unit and continued westbound on CR 302 and southbound on FM 1774, disregarding traffic control lights.
Hemann accelerated to speeds more than 100 MPH, with no regard to public safety. The pursuit continued into Waller County, where Navasota Police Department Officers, Waller County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to assist.
A female passenger, later identified as Shandi Imhoff, was observed throwing objects out of the front passenger window. The objects were later identified to be suspected narcotics.
Emergency Medical Services were notified and cleared Hemann and Imhoff medically. Hemann and Imhoff were placed under arrest and transported to the Grimes County Jail.
Hemann was wanted out of Pardon and Parole for a Parole Violation, Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 4 to 200 Grams.
Imhoff was charged with Tampering with Evidence, a 3rd Degree Felony.
Items recovered from the vehicle included meth, heroin, a pellet gun, a cap gun, and other miscellaneous items.
