Fight With Texas Central Continues

July 25, 2016 by Willy1550

There’s big news in the fight against the controversial bullet train last week.  Texas Central Rail may have just lost its right to take land by imminent domain after the Surface Transportation Board decided it isn’t a federal project.

Grimes County Congressman Kevin Brady says this is exactly what he and many property owners want; as this pushes the fight into home territory where Texans can hold Texas Central’s feet to fire.

Brady says the company sought federal approval to begin construction of the Houston-to-Dallas line and evaluating properties, in case it was given federal consent.

But even with this victory, he continues, the fight isn’t over.

Texas Central Representatives say, this doesn’t derail any of its plans as the company doesn’t need federal permission for construction.

Navasota news will have more you, as this story develops.
