Home destroyed in Roans Prairie fire, family in need of donations

August 8, 2019 by Willy1550

A Roans Prairie family needs help after losing their home in a Tuesday afternoon fire.

Authorities say a single home fire on Highway 30 across from the Family Dollar resulted in a total loss of the home. The fire is believed to have been caused by an extension cord. The fire also destroyed an attached building, vehicle and lawnmower.

There were no individuals home when the fire occurred.

Anderson-Shiro CISD Elementary Principal Marcy Pavlock is asking the community to help assist the family that lost their home. She says the family lost everything and Walmart, Brookshire Borthers or Family Dollar gift cards are needed to help get the family some necessities.

Donations are accepted at Anderson-Shiro Elementary or can be mailed there as well. For more information, call the school at 936-873-4525.
